Basic users are first given a warning and a grace period before the horse limit is enforced. It's an automated process and there is no need to report them for it.

Paint Horses are not required to have spots and if your horse doesn't have the Tobiano gene, it will be spotless. These are commonly referred to as Paint Stocks on here.

When somebody has a proxy bid on a horse, their bid is increased immediately if somebody else bids until the bidding goes higher than their proxy bid.
How do I enter shows?
Click THIS LINK to find a schedule of upcomming shows and then select the amateur or pro division to pull up a list of eligible entries. You will only be able to enter horses that have been named.
You may also enter horses from the link on the horse information page.
How long is the gestation period for horses?
On Showhorse, the gestation period is 28 days.
How much is the daily salary for basic accounts?
Basic users do not get Daily Salary.
Can you buy a stud on the stud book?
Typically no. Horses up for stud are available to breed to, not buy. However, sometimes people have stud horses up for sale as well.

How can I change a horse's name?
You cannot change a horse's name once it has been named on this site.

The last call lasts for five minutes after the last bid was placed. An auction could theoretically go on forever if a bid is placed every five minutes.

As a basic user, you are limited to five horses. Premium users currently do not have a limit on the amount of horses they can have in their stables.
What is a proxy bid?
A proxy bid system is a system that only uses the amount of your bid necessary in order to beat the next highest bidder. That means you can enter the most you are willing to bid, and the computer automatically re-bids for you against other bidders until your maximum bid amount is reached.

No, horse colors are determined by genetics and cannot be changed.

There is no age restrictions as to how old your horse must be to be eligiable for Halter and Hand shows. For Western and English pleasure, a horse must be 2 years of age
Will my horse have more than one foal at a time?
No, a mare may only have one foal per breeding.
Can Basic Users put Horses up for stud?
Yes they can, but they are not able to breed to the studs themselves.
How do I tell if my horse is any good?
Typically, users currently are adding up their horses stats to determine its quality. Most users consider 950 and Up too be 'keepable'

Trolls are the unfortunate souls on Showhorse that create havoc all across the website. Whether its them breaking the rules or constantly being rude, just IGNORE THEM.
You ignore them, they go away. Don't post about them. Don't mention them or their name. Don't respond to them.
